ACI Mechanical, Inc. received the "Project of the Year" award from ABC of Iowa for the USDA BSL-3 Large Animal Facility. ACI was selected by McCarthy as the mechanical contractor for the new bio science level three containment lab to be built at the USDA Facility in Ames, Iowa. As the selected mechanical contractor it was our responsibility to provide detailed coordination drawings for the project, which had to include both electrical and fire protection to ensure proper installation of all systems. Our in-house engineering department met the challenge by having three team members working fulltime for more than six months. Once the coordination drawings were complete and approved our team of skilled tradesmen went to work to install more than 90,000 lbs of galvanized and stainless steel ductwork, 168 HEPA filter boxes and over 25,000 feet of pipe in this 156,000 sq. ft. lab which will be the only one of it's kind in the country. |

ACI Mechanical, Inc. was also honored by Associated
Builders and Contractors at the national level, winning the "Pyramid Award" for the Nutro Premium Pet Food plant in Victorville,
CA. The ACI design build team completed what has become the largest premium pet food plant in the country as part of an all merit shop team. Our engineers and tradesman designed and installed the plumbing, HVAC and process piping systems for this state of the art facility. The partnership that was developed on this project continues today with the same merit shop team working together on other design build industrial projects across the country. |

Our clients have received countless ABC of Iowa Excellence in Construction Awards for projects that we have submitted on their behalf. Each year the ACI team selects two or three projects to submit for award, then we take our clients to the ABC Excellence in Construction Award Banquet to accept their award.
